Thank you for purchasing Xit 404’s tripod legs. Below are instructions
and warranty information to help you prolong the life of your tripod legs.

Tripod Leg with Ball Adaptor Maintenance

During dive trip:

1. Rinse entire assembly in fresh water after each dive.
2. Clean off any sand or silt that may have accumulated on the legs.

After dive trip:

1. Disassemble the leg by removing both Clamp Knobs and sliding the leg pieces
apart. Do not remove the Foot or the Ball Adaptor.
2. Soak all the parts in fresh water with salt remover.
3. Rinse and dry the parts. Reassemble the leg using corrosion inhibitor (such a
Lanopro) on the  threads of the two clamp knobs.
4. Inspect the O-ring on the Ball Adaptor and replace if it appears cracked.

Note: This tripod leg is used with an ULCS Clamp (not supplied).

Tripod Leg with Twist Clamp Maintenance

During dive trip:

1. Rinse entire assembly in fresh water after each dive.
2. Clean off any sand or silt that may have accumulated on the legs.

After dive trip:

1. Disassemble the leg by removing both Clamp Knobs and sliding the leg pieces
apart. Do not remove the Foot or the Twist Clamp.
2. Soak all the parts in fresh water with salt remover.
3. Rinse and dry the parts. Reassemble the leg using corrosion inhibitor (such as
Lanocote) on the threads of the two clamp knobs.
4. Apply a small amount of Silicon grease to sliding surfaces using a toothpick or
small plastic tool after each leg has been soaked, cleaned, and reassembled.
5. Apply corrosion inhibitor, (such as Lanopro), to the screw threads of the Twist
Clamp. Loosen clamp, apply grease, tighten clamp.

Using your Tripod Legs and Twist Clamps

Whenever you deploy the leg make sure to completely loosen the Twist Clamp so
that the leg moves easily on the Ball Adaptor. To loosen grasp the leg and twist
counter-clockwise 1-2 turns to loosen the clamp and clockwise to tighten (lefty-loosey,
rightey-tightey). This will minimize wear on the clamp arms and Ball Adaptors. If you
do not loosen the clamp completely to reposition the leg then excessive wear will
occur. This will be considered misuse and will nullify your warranty.

To extend the leg, loosen the clamp knob until the leg slides easily. Tighten the clamp
knob with the leg at the desired length.

Ship the legs separated from the Tripod Bracket. Collapse the legs and tighten the
Twist Clamps. Reuse the packaging provided with each leg or wrap the legs in
something soft to avoid damage during shipping or travel.

FDM parts - a brief description

Xit 404 manufactures a number of its parts using a process called Fused
Deposition Modeling (FDM) This process involves extruding a thread of plastic
and laying it down in thin layers to build a part. This enables us to supply you
products that enhance your underwater photography and videography.

Care and Maintenance

The FDM part is impact resistant and will withstand most drops from table height.
However, as with all plastic parts, they cannot withstand excessive pressure and
force without breaking. Being careful means handling the product during assembly
with a light touch, do not force.

Tripod Leg and Twist Clamp Warranty

Tripod Legs are warranted against manufacturer defects for 1 year starting from
date of purchase. The warranty is non-transferrable and does not cover failures
from abuse or misuse. Warranty does not apply to O-rings and mounting hardware
kits. If Xit 404 determines that the equipment was damaged due to abuse or misuse
the warranty is no longer valid. Warranty voided if the product is not properly
maintained in accordance with Xit 404 instructions. Proof of purchase from an
authorized dealer is required for all warranty claims. Some wear is expected on
all contacting and sliding surfaces of the clamp and the Ball Adaptor - this will not
affect the performance. Excessive wear caused by improper loosening of the
clamp will be considered misuse and nullify the warranty. Please refer to the notes
on "Using your Tripod Legs and Twist Clamp" for tips on how to minimize wear.

FDM Plastic Part Warranty

FDM parts are guaranteed to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of one
year from date of purchase. Unnecessary force can cause excessive wear and
possibly break the parts voiding warranty. Damaged or broken parts will be
inspected. If Xit 404 determines that the parts were misused or abused, warranty
will be void. Valid purchase receipt is required for all warranty claims.

NOTE:

Light and Motion Bluefin (Not FX1)/Fit Housings and  Pods. If you wish to

purchase replacement parts or have any questions about your Tripod Bracket,
please contact your local Xit 404 Dealer.
