Appendix B - Network

Cable Connection

The graphics on this page depict the rear panel of the
DocuPrint printer with the Network Interface Card already
installed.  Follow the text for your type of card to allow
network cabling connections.

ETHERNET/ETHERTALK CONNECTIONS

Ethernet / EtherTalk connections are made at the rear of the
DocuPrint printer on the Network Interface Card.

10BaseT twisted pair connections are made using UTP or STP
cable at the RJ-45 (8 pin) connector on the Network Interface
Card.
COAX connections are made  using a BNC connector and RG-
58 cable.

TOKEN RING/TOKENTALK CONNECTIONS

Token Ring / TokenTalk connections are made at the rear of the
DocuPrint printer on the Network Interface card.

DB-9 connections are made at the rear of the DocuPrint printer
on the 9 pin sub-miniature D connector.

Twisted pair connections are made using UTP or STP cable at
the RJ-45 (8 pin) connector on the Network Interface Card.

NOTE: Token Ring Network Interface cards must have
their Ring Speed and Source Routing parameters set at the
printer’s Control Panel prior to connecting them to an
active network.  Failure to set proper ring speed can result
in the network being brought down.
