Privilege Modes
The IPS allows access to various functions based on a user’s
privilege level. The following Privilege Modes are available:
•
User Mode — This is the default and the lowest privilege mode
at which the IPS operates. In this mode, the Configuration
menu, service-related options on the Diagnostics menu, as well
as the Trace, Service, and Debug Level options on the
Diagnostics menu are not accessible.
•
Operator Mode — In this mode, service-related options on the
Configuration and Diagnostic menus, as well as the Trace and
Debug Level options on the Diagnostics menu are not
accessible.
•
Administrator Mode — In this mode, service-related options
on the Configuration and Diagnostic menus are not accessible.
•
Service Mode — In this mode, all functions are accessible.
A user’s current Privilege Mode displays on the Control Unit
Configuration section of the main window.

Changing the Privilege Mode
Changing your current privilege level to an Operator Mode,
Administrator Mode, or Service Mode requires a password.
