Copy Quality

•

Color Quality is subjective and can be impacted by lighting.

•

Like any color reproduction process, there may be some variances in color quality over time.

•

Copy Quality is strongly influenced by paper, consult the Materials Usage Guide for the
DocuColor 5799 (p/n  701P94674).

•

Key Applications should be copied on the DocuColor 5799 and reviewed with the customer.

•

Transparencies are non-absorbent and may exhibit non-uniform density streaks in large
solid areas due to the fuser agent film.

Duplex Copying

•

The DocuColor 5799 is recommended for duplex applications on 24 lb to 28 lb paper.

•

As with any full color copier, duplex performance is not expected to match the performance
for single sided copying.  Paper jam rates will be higher than the rate you will experience for
the same thruput material in single sided mode.  Extensive duplex operation may have a
secondary effect on performance and copy quality of single sided jobs.

•

When running duplex copies, the second side should be run only from the Paper Tray
bypass.

Configuration Limitations

•

The DocuColor 5799 does not allow for Sorters and Film Projectors to be placed on the
same unit.

Inserting Copies / Prints Into High Volume Copiers

•

Inserting DocuColor 5799 copies or prints into Xerox 5090 / 5390 / DocuTech 135 requires
the validation of your local Service District.

•

Do not use DocuColor 5799 output as input to the Xerox 5100 or the Xerox 5800 except
from the Interposer tray 4 and tray 5 post process due to incompatibility with the fuser.

Transparencies

•

The following transparencies are available for the DocuColor 5799: 3R5765, 3R5775,
3R5821 and 3R3108.  Transparencies are supported out of the bypass tray if fed in the
correct manner.  The 3R5765 premium transparency is specifically designed to provide
optimum copy quality including more vivid colors.

•

Use of other transparencies may cause machine damage and result in excessive service
calls.  Continued use of transparencies other than those recommended may force Xerox to
cancel the Service Maintenance Agreement and provide future service on a Time and
Materials basis.
