The xmarty 2.0 sounds an alarm when it loses connection to your
smartphone. On the smartphone you will get a notification as well.
If you lose your mobile phone, your key pendant will start an alarm
and your mobile phone will notify you, if your key gets lost.
On the bottom of the app a slider with the title “Proximity” allows
to set a required distance in 3 steps, from which you want to get
an alarm. The actual range depends strongly from the structural
conditions. As a benchmark:
Near
around 5 meters
Medium
around 12 meters
Far
up to 25 meters
You can also let an alarm sound on the xmarty 2.0 manually. To do
so just press the “alarm”-button (5). The other way around you can
sound an alarm on your mobile phone when you briefly press the
button on the xmarty once. So you will find the other device easily
if you misplaced something for example.
If you are at home and an alarm is triggered repeatedly (for
example because you go downstairs and loose the connection), the
Safe Zone button (7) can be activated. There won’t be notifications
then, if the connection will be lost. You can name the Safe Zone
freely.
With this application other things can be secured too. You could fix
the xmarty 2.0 to a dog collar and you would get notified if your
dog walks too far away. Or protect a precious object against theft –
the possibilities are endless.
