Steerable Trailer Discharge (w/ pump)
Attach the supply line from the planter or strip-till bar to
the 2” coupler on the trailer tongue (Figure B27). Open the
tongue valve. Attach the pump hydraulic lines to the tractor
hydraulic ports. Open the pump valve.
Extend the drive wheel cylinder. Remove the transport
lock collars.
The Hi-Rise pump cylinder is equipped with a pressure
relief valve to prevent excess force between the drive wheel
and the ground wheel. The drive wheel should engage the
ground wheel with enough force to drive the pump without
slippage, but not so much that the drive wheel is flattened.
If the pressure must be increased, remove the cap and
loosen the jam nut. Rotate the adjustment screw clockwise
(tighten). Adjust in ½ turn increments. Rotate counterclock

wise (loosen) to reduce the pressure. Once the pressure
is set, tighten the jam nut and replace the cap. Make sure
that the washer is in place between the cap and jam nut.
The cylinder should be extended to disengage the pump.
Retract the cylinder to engage the pump. Refer to the
pump information for the proper setting for accurate ap
-
plication rate.
If the trailer is to be towed by a pickup or other ve-
hicle without a hydraulic circuit, it is recommended
that the transport lock collars be installed to prevent
possible engagement of the pump during transport.
Field/Transport Position
To change from field to transport position, remove the pin,
move each tie rod from the axle mount to the frame mount,
and install the pin.
