INSTALLATION AND
PLACEMENT
Wood's dehumidifiers are easy to move around
but keep in mind the following:
• If the dehumidifier is transported, leave it
standing for 4 hours before use. It is very
important for the oil to flow back into the
compressor, as the dehumidifier otherwise may
take severe damage.
• The dehumidifier should not be placed near
radiators or other heat sources or exposed to
direct sunlight, as it will reduce its performance.
• Keep at least 25cm distance from walls and
other obstructions to maximize the airflow.
• For optimum performance, place the
dehumidifier in the middle of the room.
• Make sure that the airflow from the inlet and
outlet isn't blocked.
NOTE!
When placed in a shower or bathing area,
the dehumidifier should be fixed in place. It
is mandatory to check and follow the local
bathroom electrical regulations before use.
INSTALLATION:
1.
Place the dehumidifier on flat and solid
ground, preferably in the middle of the
room.
2.
Connect the air hose to the air duct
connector by rotating the hose counter-
clockwise. Connect the air duct connector
to the dehumidifier by sliding it downwards
in the designated slot on the side of the unit.
Route the hose to the desired position.
3.
Connect a water hose to the port on the
unit. Refer to the section about water
drainage.
4. Close all windows and ventilation in the
room. Otherwise, moist air from the outside
will continue to flow into the room.
5.
Connect the display unit to the dehumidifier
using the modular cable. Connect the
dehumidifier to a power socket with an
earth connection.
6.
Switch on the unit using the main switch.
Once connected, a buzzer is heard, and the
display panel illuminates.
7.
Start the unit by touching the ON/OFF
button on the display.
8.
Choose the mode of operation.
The display shows the current relative humidity
around the dehumidifier.
THE HYGROSTAT
The dehumidifier will only run when the ambient
humidity exceeds your desired value. When
the set humidity is reached, the operation will
automatically shut off and will resume in the
same manner when the humidity rises.
MEMORY FUNCTION AND AUTOMATIC
RESTART AFTER POWER FAILURE
In the event of a power failure, the unit will
automatically restart when the power returns
and continues to operate according to your latest
settings.
AUTOMATIC DEFROST
The DSC95(P) features a function that enables
it to operate in colder spaces without the risk
of ice forming on the cooling coils. The unit will
defrost automatically when needed. When the
unit is in defrost mode, the compressor shuts off,
showing a symbol on the display. It will continue
its operations once the defrost is completed.
AUTOMATIC WATER PUMP (DSC95P
ONLY)
The DSC95P is equipped with a water pump that
automatically will drain the condensate water
when needed.
WATER DRAINAGE
Connect a ½” garden hose (not included) to the
plastic nozzle and secure it with the hose clamp
using a pair of pliers. Insert the nozzle fully into
the bulkhead connector on the unit. Lead the
other end of the hose to a drain. If the drain
is located above the dehumidifier, this height
should not exceed 10 m (DSC95P only).
If no sewage point is available in the crawl space,
the hose can be routed via another protrusion in a
wall to dispose of the water to the outside.
If the hose nozzle for any reason needs to be
detached from the dehumidifier, press the
locking collar of the bulkhead connector inward
and pull the nozzle outwards.
AIR EXHAUST HOSE
Connecting a hose to the air exhaust can lead the
dry, warm air to a connecting room or area. This
is especially beneficial for large or divided crawl
spaces or basements with multiple rooms. Use
the hose provided with the dehumidifier.
AIR FILTER
The air filter prevents dust and dirt from entering
the dehumidifier, prolonging its life expectancy. It
will also clean the air as dust and other particles
are collected by the filter. The filter must be
cleaned regularly; otherwise, the dehumidifier
might lose capacity and be seriously damaged.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Use a soft, moist cloth to clean the external
parts of the units. Avoid using solvents or strong
cleaners, as this might damage the surface of the
dehumidifier. It is important to check the air filter
regularly and clean it when needed.
- The air filter is easily accessible at the back of
the unit and may be serviced by using a vacuum
cleaner. Ensure the filter is refitted properly to
prevent unfiltered air from entering the unit.
- The exhaust grid can be vacuum-cleaned or
cleaned with a brush.
- The cooling coils are best cleaned with a rag
and warm water.
- The fan motor is permanently lubricated and
requires no maintenance.
- (DSC95P only) The pump's filter should be
inspected and, if necessary, cleaned every six
months. Unplug the dehumidifier from its power
supply. Open the hatch on the air inlet side of
the unit by removing the screws. Release the
velcro band holding the pump and unscrew
the garden hose connector underneath the
collecting tray. Slide the pump outwards and lift
it out gently. Ensure that no strain is applied to
either the hose or the wiring.
Remove and inspect the filter and clean it if
necessary. Reassembly is conducted in reverse
order relative to the description above.
NOTE!
Unplug the power cord from the electrical
outlet before cleaning.
HINTS
• For maximum dehumidification capacity in a
room, it is recommended that the supply air from
the outside and adjoining rooms are minimized
- close doors and valves. If possible, place the
dehumidifier in the middle of the room.
• Raise the temperature in the room for faster
dehumidification. (Hot air can carry more
water). Use a frost guard if the temperature
drops below + 2 ° C
• The dehumidifier extracts more water during
the summer and autumn because the outdoor
air is warm and moist. (The absolute humidity
usually is higher).
• The amount of moisture the dehumidifier
removes depends on temperature, humidity
level and placement. The weather outdoors also
affects dehumidifier performance. The relative
humidity indoors drops in cold weather, thus
reducing the dehumidifier's moisture absorption
from the air. Therefore, the dehumidifier is
adapted for use in the temperature range of
+ 2˚ C to + 35˚ C.
RECOMMENDED LIMITS FOR USE
• Temprature: + 2˚C to + 35˚C
• Relative humidity: 35% to 90%
• Recommended humidity level c.a. 50% RH
IMPORTANT!
Wood’s dehumidifier shall be connected to a
grounded electrical outlet with a voltage of
220V-240V 50Hz.
