Start-up
Prior to first use, clean the kettle thoroughly from the inside. To do so, open the
lid by pressing the button on the handle.
A mesh filter is fitted in the spout to hold back large limescale and calcium
deposits when pouring out the water.
The section of the power cable not in use can be wound up and stored on the
underside of the base.
Connect the power plug to a shockproof socket.
Fill in at least so much water that the water level is visible on the water level
indicator, but no higher than the max mark. Close the lid. Only then will the
automatic boiling stop work reliably.
Set the kettle on the base facing in any direction. Only then push the ON switch
under the handle downwards.
When using the kettle for the first time, do not use the boiled water for preparing
food or beverages.
Automatic switch-off
Shortly after the water has started to boil, the automatic switch-off function
will shut down the kettle automatically. If the kettle is filled with only a small
quantity of water, the switch-off period will be increased.
If you require warm but not boiling water, the heating process can be interrupted
at any time by pressing the ON switch.
For functional reasons, a small amount of condensed water may run out through
the openings at the bottom of the handle and onto the rim of the base. This is
due to technical reasons and does not impair the safety of the appliance.
Safety system
If the kettle is accidentally operated without water, a thermostat protects the
kettle from overheating by switching off the appliance.
Make sure to allow the kettle to cool down before filling with water.
If the first thermostat should fail due to misuse, an additional temperature limiter
offers reliable protection.
Cleaning and maintenance
Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool down. Never
immerse the appliance in water; simply wipe it over using a damp cloth with a
drop of washing-up liquid and then rub dry.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
The bottom of the kettle is made of stainless steel. If you notice rust stains all the
same, these are only deposits sticking to the surface. Remove these immediately
with a cleaning agent for stainless steel.
The mesh filter in the spout can be pulled off to clean when the lid is open. To
remove, press up the top lug. When inserting, place the mesh filter centrally
against the bar and then latch home to the front.
