2.7 Timed Light Switch and Toggle Switch Do Not Operate
Properly
SHOCK HAZARD:
Use care when checking live voltages. Do not touch live terminals,
wires, and ground. Failure to use caution will cause serious electrical
shock injury.
1. The building circuit breaker (A) is in the ON position (see figure 2-1 on
page 2-7).

Reset the circuit breaker to the ON position.
2. A voltage of 109 to 125V AC is available between the lug and the circuit
breaker terminal.

Replace the circuit breaker according to the manufacturer’s
instruction.
3. Testing shows 109 to 125V AC is available at the wire terminals on the
toggle switch.

Repair or replace the wiring between the circuit breaker and the
toggle switch.
4. Place the toggle switch in the ON position. The lights turn ON.

Replace the applicable light bulb (refer to procedure 4.8).
5. The light is operational.

Replace the toggle switch (refer to procedure 4.10).
6. Place the toggle light switch in the OFF position. The lights turn OFF at the
setting of the timer (0–15 minutes).

Adjust the timer to the correct setting (refer to procedure 4.10).
