CAWI Key-Operated Lock 2648 Optima
Then use four steel machine screws (M6 or the corresponding
inch threads) to affix the key-operated lock so that it is perma
-
nently and securely attached. Prevent spontaneous loosening
of these screws. It is advisable to insert a lock washer under
each of the screw heads. In order to avoid malfunctions, the
mounting screws may be tightened down only to a maximum
torque of 10 Nm.
The bolt may not be subjected to stress or strain after
installation.
The breakout segment in the base of the case may not
be covered by any components.
Do not use lubricants or any other substances in the
lock.
The key-operated lock requires no maintenance when used
in a normal residential or office environment. It is advisable
to have the lock inspected for security and proper function
after about 10,000 operating cycles. Such inspections are to
be carried out by personnel trained by cawi.
The manufacturer’s guarantee will be invalidated if these
installation instructions are not observed or if the lock’s case
is opened by personnel not trained by cawi.
Follow these installation instructions when installing
the lock. It should be noted that these installation in-
structions are a part of the VdS security certification;
failure to follow these instructions will invalidate that
certification. The lock is in all cases to be protected
against tampering from the outside.
