Power On & Off
The X10DR will power off & on in synch with the host mobile radio or by
a manual switch fitted by your installation mechanic. You can manually
turn off the gateway mobile charger by pressing the front grey button for
5 seconds and the blue LED will extinguish. You can do the same on the
Secure Wireless Microphone by pressing the red side button. The secure
mic will sound a de-escalating tone. To power On, do the same, releasing
the button once the LED lights. The secure mic will sound an escalating
tone. The blue LED on both units will flash momentarily and then go solid
once they’re connected. (if not, please refer Device Pairing page 15)
Volume Control
When you first activate the unit you should first adjust the secure mic
volume to a comfortable listening level. You may adjust the volume by
pressing the blue buttons to increase or the bottom to decrease. There
are 5 listening levels. The minimum level is not zero but is designed so you
can still quietly hear radio traffic and not inadvertently turn off all audio.
Transmitting/Receiving
Use like any two way radio speaker microphone i.e. press the large PTT
button to talk and release to listen. Speak with a normal strong clear voice
about 1-2cm (<1”) from the microphone port. Do not yell as this causes
loss of clarity.
Handsfree ( Elite Model Factory Option)
Your X10DR can be configured so that up to five X10DR devices can
be configured to communicate local, “off-net” in handsfree mode in
talkaround. Handsfree mode requires use of an earpiece or ideally, a
headset for optimum audio performance. To enable handsfree mode
quick double press the talkaround button, a unique tone wil sound and
you will hear yourself speak in the earpiece. To reset simply press PTT or
Talkaroud button again. See page 13 for more details.
