Before installation/maintenance, ensure both tractor and
attachment are stationary, with the hydraulic lift system in a neutral
position and the ignition key removed.
1. Position the tractor on flat ground and lower the 3-point linkage (3) to
line-up with the box grader. Attach the box grader using 3-point
linkage pins (1), and fix in place with linch pins (2).
2.
Level the box grader so both sides are parallel to the ground by
adjusting the tractor’s linkage arms. Adjust top link arm (12) to level
the box grader front to back using link pin and linch pin. Adjust lower
link arm (13) to level the box grader left to right and to prevent
excessive movement to one side.
Installation & Operating Instructions
Check the condition of blades, the tine height is set (see page 7) and
the working area is clear of debris.
Tighten all nuts and bolts.
Operate the box grader at a speed of 2-4 mph. With the tines fully raised,
lower the box scraper blade to ground level to shave the soil surface. Any
dirt/aggregate material will accumulate in the box. Move the material by
dragging it and then raising the scraper to deposit your load.
Alternatively, set the scraper to shave off high spots on uneven ground,
and the accumulated material will flow out under the blade in low spots. It
can also be used for backfilling; lower the scraper and back the rear-facing
grader blade into the pile of dirt you are using for backfill.
Experiment to achieve the right set-up. If the box is not accumulating soil
then try adjusting the tractor linkage arms. Box scrapers generally perform
better in dry to slightly damp soil conditions.
