2.15 Antenna Connections
The FM12Q equipped with internal antennas on the Computer side as well as external antennas on the
Vehicle Dock side. When the FM12Q Computer is on the Vehicle Dock, it will by default use the external
antennas on the Dock that are attached through the SMA Connectors for better signal strength. Only
when the FM12Q computer is removed from the dock will it use the internal antennas. GPS and WWAN
are optional on the device and require external remote mount antennas.

2.16 External/ Vehicle Remote Antenna
The FM12Q vehicle dock is equipped with SMA Connector for additional external antenna (WLAN
or optional WWAN), to install the antenna please perform the following:
1. Remove the rubber cap on the SMA connector before installing the antenna.
2. Align the antenna with the SMA connector and fasten it as following picture.
3. Adjust the position of external antennas.
