Appendix B FEED button menu
1) Through the self-test function, the user may check:

Control circuit functions

Printer mechanisms

Print quality

Control software version

Cutter

Sensors

Print statistics

Configure and save the parameters of the printer by following the printed menus.
3) Starting the self-test
To start the self-test, hold down the FEED button and turn the printer on. After a short time the printer will
print a main menu as below.
Before starting the self-test, make sure that a paper roll has been loaded and the top cover is closed.
MAIN MENU
Exit -> 1
Print Self Test -> 2
Configuration -> 3
Cutter Test -> 4
Sensor Test -> 5
Print Statistics -> 6
Enter code, then hold Button Down
at least 1 second to validate
The number following each function in the main menu shows the necessary times of pressing the FEED
buttons to enable user
’
s selection. For example, to configure printer, the user needs to press the FEED
button 6 times first and hold down the FEED button again for at least one second to enter the configure
menu.
Below is a detailed description of the functions listed in the main menu.
1) Print Self Test
Press the FEED button once and then hold down it for at least one second, the printer will print a
self-test page containing the current configuration of printer like print darkness, print speed,
communication port settings and etc. See figure 3.5.3. Press the feed button one more time, the
printer will print a sample page. See figure 3.5.4.
2) Print Statistics
The statistics includes paper feed distance and how many cuts the cutter has made.
3) Cutter Test
The printer will feed paper and give four partial cuts and one full cut.
