The first time you use your Wilfa electric blanket
Most mattresses and bedding absorb moisture that can harbour
dust mites and encourage mould. Wilfa electric blankets effectively
prevent these conditions. Once the blanket is fitted correctly, we
recommend that you run it on the highest setting for three hours in a
well ventilated room to ensure that all moisture is removed from your
mattress. During this period, you may notice a slight odour. This is
harmless and will dissipate.
Connecting the blanket
Before connecting the blanket, please check that the voltage
specified on the blanket label corresponds to the mains voltage in
your home.
For dual-control models, each half of the blanket is controlled via
a separate switch with its own plug. If you have followed the above
instructions, your blanket should now be securely attached to the
mattress. Connect the control units to the blanket (see Figure 7).
Ensure that the plug is firmly in place, and then connect it to a mains
socket and switch on. The flexible cord and switch must be kept
outside of the bed and away from open windows. Ensure that they
are not exposed to moisture.
ENSURE THAT NOTHING IS PLACED IN THE CONTROL UNIT AT
THE POWER OUTLET END. THIS IS LIVE (230V) AND COULD CAUSE
SERIOUS INJURY.
Washing instructions
With normal use, it is recommended that you hand wash your blanket
once a year.
