2.2 Description
The model GIR-10 gas presence detector is a simple-to-use and portable instrument
that detects the smallest concentrations of SF₆ gas and CO
2
in the atmosphere. The
instrument consists of a console and a hand-held unit which are connected to each
other by a hose. A shoulder strap facilitates the mobile operation.
The gas presence detector is highly sensitive, has a low reaction time and is immune
to moisture and also to typical volatile organic compounds (VOC). The sensor uses
non-dispersive infrared technology (NDIR), which delivers reliable and exact results.
The gas presence detector was developed to locate the smallest leaks in gas-filled
systems in indoor and outdoor applications. Through the visual and acoustic alarm
signals, the instrument can prevent larger, environmentally harmful and expensive SF₆
gas leaks.
