Switch description

The 8 port 10/100-TX with 4 Port High-Power PoE Industrial switch is a cost-effective solution, which
meets the high reliability requirements demanded by industrial applications, and also supports to op-
erate in the wide temperature range from -40°C to 75°C. The equipment supports 24 V or 48

V DC

power input and provides the PoE function with 48

V DC

output for kinds of Powered Devices to re-

ceive power as well as data over an RJ-45 cable.

High-Speed Transmissions

The

wienet

UMS 8-4POE-W includes a switch controller that can automatically sense transmission

speeds (10/100 Mbps). The RJ-45 interface can also be auto-detected, so MDI or MDI-X is automati-
cally selected and a crossover cable is not required. All Ethernet ports have memory buffers that sup-
port the store-and-forward mechanism. This assures that data is properly transmitted.

3.2

Power-over-Ethernet (PoE)

PoE eliminates the need to run AC power to other devices on a wired LAN. While using Power-over-

Ethernet system, installers need to run only a single Category 5 Ethernet cable that carries both power
and data to each device. This allows greater flexibility in the locating of network devices and signifi-
cantly decreasing installation costs in many cases.

3.3

Dual Power Input

wienet

UMS 8-4POE-W redundant power input design is with power reserve protection to prevent the

switch device broken by wrong power wiring. When one of the power inputs fails, P-Fail LED will turn

on and send an alarm through a relay output for notifying user.

3.4

Flexible Mounting

wienet

UMS 8-4POE-W is extremely compact and can be mounted on a DIN-rail or a panel, so it is

suitable for any space-constrained environment.

3.5

Advanced Protection

wienet

UMS 8-4POE-W supports up to 3,000

V DC

surge protection for power line, and also supports

6,000 V ESD for Ethernet ports. With these 2 strong protections, it can secure equipment against un-
regulated voltage and make systems safer and more reliable. Further,

wienet

UMS 8-4POE-W provides

current overload protection with a resettable fuse to ensure that the device component won’t be dam-
aged by overload current.
