6.

When the connectors have been securely
attached, flip the drive over and down into
the tray. Be sure not to crimp or pinch the
IDE cable under the drive.  Make sure no
part of the cable is sticking out above the
hard drive; this would make it more difficult
to insert and remove the tray, and may
damage the cable.

7.

Using four screws provided, attach the drive
to the tray by aligning the holes in the
bottom of the tray with the mounting holes in
the drive.

8.

Insert the Tray back into the enclosure. Be
sure the handle catches the groove in the
side of the case so it will latch securely.
Then lock the tray if desired. The lock does
not need to be engaged for the TrayDock to
operate.

9.

Connect either the included FireWire 800 cable or USB 2.0 cable to both your computer and the rear

panel of the TrayDock.

10.

Connect the power adapter to the rear panel of the TrayDock.  Plug the other end into an available

outlet.  For the best protection of your data and the TrayDock, WiebeTech recommends plugging into a
surge protector rather than directly into a wall outlet.

Your TrayDock is now ready to use!

Important information regarding TrayDock usage

When daisy-chaining another device to the TrayDock, it is important to note that when the TrayDock

is turned off or the tray is removed, any device downstream from the TrayDock will lose its
connection to the FireWire host device/computer.

The FireWire 800 ports are backwards compatible with FireWire 400 hosts. When connected to a

FireWire 400 host, however, FireWire 800 speeds will not be obtainable. The same is true if the
TrayDock is connected downstream by daisy chain to a FireWire 400 device. FireWire 800 speeds
are only obtainable with the correct hardware connections and Windows XP SP1 and above or Mac
OS X version 10.2.4 or later. The USB 2.0 port is the standard “B” type and is backwards
compatible with USB 1.1 hosts.
