350W ELECTRIC DRILL
ENG
4. Operating the switch
1) To start the power tool, simply press the switch trigger. The power tool speed is increased by
increasing pressure on the switch trigger. Release the switch trigger to stop your power tool.
2) If you wish to use the power tool continuously, press switch trigger then lock on button, release
switch trigger first and lock on button second (See Fig 2). Your switch is now locked on for continuous
use. To turn off your power tool just press and release the switch trigger. The switch will return to "off"
position automatically.
5. Forward/reverse rotation selector switch
This power tool has a forward and reverse selector switch to change the direction of rotation. For
drilling and screw driving use forward rotation marked “
R
” (selector switch is moved to the left of power
tool). Only use reverse rotation marked “
L
” (selector switch is moved to the right of power tool) to
remove screws or release a jammed drill bit (See Fig 3).
Note:
Never move the forward and reverse rotation selector switch whilst the power tool in operation or
the on/off switch is locked as this will damage your power tool.
6. Torque adjustable ring
1) The fastening torque can be adjusted in 16+1 steps by turning the torque adjustable ring so that its
graduations are aligned with the pointer on the power tool body. The fastening torque is minimum when
the number 1 is aligned with the pointer, and maximum when the“ ”marking is aligned with the pointer
(See Fig 4).
2) The clutch will slip at various torque levels when set at the number 1 to 16. The clutch is designed
not to slip at the “ ” marking.
3) Before actual operation, drive a trial screw into your material or a piece of duplicate material to
determine which torque level is required for a particular application.
7. Drilling operation
First, turn the torque adjustable ring so that the pointer points to the “ ” marking. Then proceed as
follows
:
1) Drilling in wood
When drilling in wood, the best results are obtained with wood drills equipped with a guide screw. The
guide screw makes drilling easier by pulling the bit into the workpiece.
2) Drilling in metal
To prevent the bit from slipping when starting a hole, make an indentation with a center-punch and
hammer at the point to be drilled. Place the point of the bit in the indentation and start drilling. Use a
cutting lubricant when drilling metals. The exceptions are iron and brass which should be drilled dry.
Note:
•
Pressing excessively on the tool will not speed up the drilling. In fact, this excessive pressure will only
serve to damage the tip of your bit, decrease the tool performance and shorten the service life of the
tool.
•
There is a tremendous force exerted on the tool / bit at the time of holes break through. Hold the tool
firmly and exert care when the bit begins to break through the workpiece.
