Vehicle Seat Belt Systems
4.
Inflatable Seat Belt Systems
• Do not use this child restraint on a
vehicle seating location with an
inflatable seat belt.
5.
Switchable Retractors
• A retractor is the mechanism that
winds the seatbelt in and out. It is
also what locks the seatbelt during
a sudden stop or crash.
• Several vehicles have a belt system in
which the retractor can be switched
from the emergency locking mode (ELR)
to an automatic locking mode (ALR).
•
The ALR mode is not designed for use
with child restraint systems.
