10.8.2 Magazine Repairs
Remove all cases from the magazine before commencing any repair work.
Feedbelt Repairs
All feedbelts run on sealed ball bearings, which are lubricated for life. Should bearing
failure occur, the entire bearing and housing should be replaced.
Clutch Bearing Repairs
If replacing the one-way clutch bearing (P/N 06-017), be sure to install the new bearing
in the same direction as the old one in order to keep the correct direction of shaft
rotation.
Remember to grease all components during reassembly, and be sure to install the
feedbelt cover to guard this mechanism.
10.8.3 Forming Head Bearing Repairs
There are eight needle bearings in the forming head assembly.
If these should require replacement:
1) Remove the three ¼" -20 UNC fasteners that are attached to each of the four pivot links.
Each pivot link houses two bearings, one at each end.
2) Remove and rebuild the links one-at-a-time. The lower links will slide down off the
stationary pins.
To remove the upper links:
a. Remove the clevis pin from the forming head cylinder clevis, and swing the
cylinder out of the way.
b. Remove the cast aluminum drive bar from the stationary pins.
c. It is now possible to remove the links.
The brass thrust washers should be examined for wear, and replaced if necessary. Grease the
bearings well when reassembling.
10.8.4 Major Flap Folder Repairs
To disassemble the major flap folder assembly:
1) Disconnect the drive cylinder.
2) Remove the

diameter flat-head screw at the center of the rotating block.
3) Remove the complete flap folder assembly from the axle.
4) Replace the bronze bushings.
After installation, it may be necessary to ream the inside diameter of the bushings to obtain a
good sliding fit on the axles. When reassembling, ensure that the bushings are well greased.
