Field of application
Air conditioning equipment for telephone exchange centers, computer centers, laboratories, etc. requiring a high
degree of reliability.
DW Series WESTRIC Precision Air Conditioners have been developed to fully comply with these requirements and
ensure a highly reliable operation.
Their purpose is to control the temperature and humidity of rooms throughout the year, and make the decisions
required to maintain the programmed conditions at all times.
General features
DW units are manufactured using galvanized, pre-painted steel sheets, ensuring a long service life of the cabinet
housing without the need of repainting or other maintenance procedures.
To enable its cooling operation under low outdoor temperatures, WESTRIC air conditioners with air-cooled
condensation are equipped with electronically-controlled modulating condensation, allowing complete control of the
operating conditions.
The evaporator section has a large coil and a high air flow which ensure high performance under sensible heat.
The heating batteries mounted in the evaporator section accelerate the dehumidifying process by reheating the air.
Electrical resistors are also used in case environmental conditions require them to provide heating.
Stainless steel drip tray.
Used for collecting condensate.
Scroll compressor.
This is a high-efficiency compressor provided with a thermal relay, which protects it against
abnormal increase of power consumption or temperature.
Electronic Condensation Control (CVTR).
This device allows the unit to operate under low outdoor
temperature. A pressure or temperature sensor controls gas conditions in the condenser coil, and allows the
electronic system to change the condenser blower speed.
Line Filter.
A molecular filter is installed in the liquid line filter to ensure the constant filtration and dehydrating
of circulating coolant.
Air Filters.
30/30 medium-efficiency filters ensuring the cleanliness of air circulating through the evaporator.
Service Valves.
These valves are located in the suction and liquid lines to control the pressure, charge or
discharge of cooling gas, etc.
Electric Motors.
Electric motors are designed to provide continuous, trouble-free operation and are equipped
with shielded ball-bearings.
High-Pressure Switch.
This switch will operate when condenser pressure reaches high values.
Low-Pressure Switch.
This switch will operate when the evaporator pressure falls below a certain value as a
result of lack of gas or due to some other abnormality; its replacement is automatic.
Clogged-Filter Switch
This device will operate when dirt accumulated on the filter reduces air flow. This signal
is transmitted to the Controller in order to switch off the unit and replace it by the back-up unit.
Air-Flow Switch.
This switch monitors that there is an adequate air flow in the evaporator as a condition for the
compressor or the resistances to be enabled.
Klixon Thermal Protections.
This thermal protector will disconnect the heating system in case of blower motor
failure. Each set of resistors has its own independent protection.
Electric resistance for heating and/or dehumidification
Their electrical output is practically equivalent to the
one of the compressor, so that power consumption during cooling or heating operations is the same.
