Communication with PCs

RS485 Communication Card (Optional, Not Included)

The RS485 adapter allows to communicate one or more controllers of each WESTRIC DW unit with a PC.

Communication of Carel controllers with a PC may be:

A) RS485 – RS485/USB

B) RS485 – RS485/Ethernet ModBus

C) RS485 – RS485/WEBGATE:

A) A RS485 adapter is located on the PLC and a RS485/USB adpater is located on the PC, this con figurations allows a cable length of up to

1,000 meters.

The software to be used in the PC for this option may be a Scada software or a Carel monitoring software.

B) A RS485 adapter is located on the PLC and an RS485/Ethernet ModBus adapter is installed to connect to the computer network. In this

option the PLC or PCLs are connected to the computer network, so that any computer on the network can access the PLCs.

The software to be used in the PC is a Scada communicated via a Modbus protocol
