This  mechanism  is  of  the  compressed  air  closed,  spring  opened  type.  It 

is pneumatically  trip free,  suitable for  ultra  high-speed reclosing,  and  is  appli­
cable  to  indoor  and  outdoor  service.  Application  of  this  mechanism  is  some­
times  made  where  high  speed  reclosing  is  not  required,  but  where  it  is  de­
sirable  to  eliminate  large  batteries  required  for  solenoid  mechanisms.
