Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Solution
Irregular darkening
dimming
Headband has been set unevenly and there is an
uneven distance from the eyes to the lens for the
filter –
re-adjust the headband to reduce the
distance from the eyes and the darkening filter.
Darkening filter does not
darken or flickers
Front cover lens is soiled or damaged. – Replace
the front cover lens
Sensors are soiled. – clean the surface of the
sensors
Welding current is too low.
Rechargeable battery of auto darkening filter
cartridge has discharged -
expose the helmet
normal room light or daylight. The cartridge will be
restored after 5 or 10 min.
Slow Response
Operating temperature is too low – Do not use at
temperatures below -5°C
Poor Vision
Front and inside cover lens and/or filter lens are
soiled –
clean the lenses or the filter
Ambient light is insufficient – provide brighten
ambient light
Shade number is incorrectly set – reset the shade
number
Welding helmet slips
Headband and headgear are not adjusted properly
