Operation
Before first Use
Unpack the tyre tread depth gauge and check it for any damage in
transit.
Dispose of packaging materials or store them out of reach of
children. Plastic bags etc. may become a deadly toy for children!
Inserting and Changing the Batteries
1. When the display starts flashing, the battery should be replaced.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover (7) off the unit in the
direction of the arrow. Insert a battery of the type SR44 (SG13)
into the battery compartment.
3. Please observe correct polarity. The plus side of the battery
must face up. After that, reattach the battery compartment cover.
Measuring the Tread Depth
1. Press the red ON/OFF button (5) once to turn the unit on.
2. Place the measuring surface of the unit against a flat surface in
such a way that the probe is flush with the measuring surface.
3. Press the yellow ZERO button (6) to set the display back to zero.
4. Then place the measuring surface on the treaded surface of the
tyre and insert the probe into one of the treads. Insert the probe
into the tread all the way and read the tread depth from the
display (3). Please take care not to measure on one of the tread
wear indicators of the tyre because this will cause inaccurate
results.
5. With the “inch/mm” button (2) you can change measurement
display between metric and the imperial system.
