Unscrew the upper section of the housing counter-clockwise - approx. 7
thread turns. The thread must not be damaged
(see "Zeichnungen / Drawings / Dessins" page 20)
7.2
Closing of the Ex d housing
Caution
• Ensure that none of the thread turns are damaged.
- Is the visual state of the threads correct?
- Are the turn of thread gaps undamaged?
- Do at least five undamaged thread turns engage?
- Corroded gaps in the thread turns or other gaps must not be cleaned
with abrasives or wire brushes and may only be cleaned chemically, e.g.
with reducing oils from ESSO, type Vassol or similar.
Ensure that the thread is greased.
Carefully position the upper section of the housing - flameproof thread
must not be damaged!
Screw on the upper section of the housing in the clockwise direction until it
stops, only so is the IP degree of protection guaranteed (explosion protec-
tion).
Firmly screw down the setscrew again to protect against turning!
(see "Zeichnungen / Drawings / Dessins" page 20).
7.3
Cable entry
The beacon connection area is provided with 2 M20x1,5 lead-in holes, one
cable entry M20x1,5 und 1 plug M20x1,5 must be screwed into place.
The temperature specifications for the cable entry and plugs must be
observed!
Notes:
• Check the cable entry clamping area against the diameter of the cable to
be brought in, min. degree of protection IP66.
• Firmly tighten the cable entry itself and the cable entry pressure screw for
sealing.
• The unused opening must be closed with certified plugs.
• Following installation IP66 must be guaranteed.
>>IP protection type is part of the explosion protection measures<<
• Suitable certified screws and plugs must be employed for the correspond-
ing Ex application.
Observe mounting and safety instructions:
• Operating temperature
• Possible for zones 1 and 2 as well as zones 21 and 22
• Damage to the signal beacon endangers the explosion protection!

Commissioning
Before commissioning make sure that:
• the appliance has been mounted according to instructions,
• the electrical connections have been carried out correctly,
• the appliance is not damaged in any way.
