21 Controller for Through Beam Sensors
1. Proper Use
The controller works together with the light barriers SA250/EA250 and avoids a mutual influence of the
sensors.
2. General information
The LV250xCT light barrier control unit can monitor at total of 3 type EA250-xxx/SA250-xxx light barriers.
Up to 27 individual light barriers can be used by cascading up to 9 LV250xCT control units.
Each LV250xCT prolongs reaction time by 2 ms. The sensing range is 25 m.
In order to assure user-friendly operation, the entire system is controlled from a single, designated LV250x-
CT control unit (master). The teach-in process can be triggered by an external device via the externally ac-
cessible teach-in input. A logic output is provided for simultaneous monitoring of all light barriers. A special
mode in switch position 9 MASK allows for easy adjustment of the light barriers, as well as the suppression
of non-existent or obstructed light barriers.
3. Safety Precautions
• This operating instruction is part of the product and must be kept during its entire service life.
• Read this operating instruction carefully before using the product.
• Installation, start-up and maintenance of this product has only to be carried out by trained personal.
• Tampering with or modifying the product is not permissible.
• Protect the product against contamination during start-up.
• Not a safety component in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive.
