8.3 Setup your Pocket PC
Before you can use the Pocket ECG application you have to setup your Pocket PC and some
application settings. Some of these settings are optional or only needed when you are going to
use telemedicine.
1. Give your Pocket PC a suitable name (
only needed when using telemedicine
)
The name of your Pocket PC is used for uniquely identifying your Pocket PC when doing
telemedicine.
You can edit this setting by going to the main menu
select
Settings
select Tab
System
select About
select Tab device ID
Here you can edit the
Device Name
field to reflect a suitable name for your Pocket PC.
2. Setup a connection to the internet (
only needed when using telemedicine
)
The Pocket ECG application can transmit and receive ECG’s to and from a remote host
workstation. For this it uses a direct socket connection that is established using the
Internet. The Pocket PC itself is responsible for setting up a correct Internet connection.
Whereas the Pocket ECG application will use this to establish a connection with the remote
host.
