3.3 The crimping process
1 Completely open the crimping tool and place the cable lug / connector at the very
bottom inside the die (see figure below). Take care not to tilt or tip the cable lug /
connector. The cable lug + cable unit should form a right angle to the crimp insert.

2 Close the tool until the connection fittings lock in the crimping die.

Insert the stripped conductor into the cable lug / connector sleeve.

Now squeeze the bars together until the tool toggle levers (see Figure 4 on page
26) lie completely together.
ATTENTION
Attention, the tool is live; therefore reopen the tool immediately after the
crimping operation.

If multiple crimps are required, the direction of crimping shown in the figure on the
following page must be observed. Always crimp from the flange to the cable, and for
connectors, from the centre stop to the cable.
