On a chart plotter nearby, which is able to display AIS
targets and that is connected to an AIS receiver, the
AIS S.A.R.T. should be displayed with the safety text
“SART TEST” and the right position.
Note that the self test uses the internal battery and
will reduce the operational lifetime of the device –
therefore the number of tests should be limited.
The battery unit must be replaced every 5 years,
because betteries discharging themselves for a certain
percentage. To ensure long and reliable operation the
battery unit must be replaced every 5 years. Plaese
find the exact date on the backside lable of your
device.
The batteries can only be changed by your distributor
or your re-seller. This is due to the reason that the
batteries are not available to the public and other
elements have to be changed, too (e.g. seals!).
