17.2 HVAC Remote Panels and Panel Options
The remote panel sho u ld be mo u nted in the conditioned space in a con v enient location for controlling the air
handler. Do not locate a remote panel that contains temperat u re sensing eq u ipment in an area directly
affected by the air handler or another heat so u rce as it may interfere w ith the operation of the air handler.
17.2.1 Standard Dischar g e Control (SDC) Remote
This control is typically u sed for air handlers
pro v iding space heating. The b u rner flame
mod u lates to maintain a constant discharge air
temperat u re as selected on the temperat u re
selection dial. While in "a u to" mode, a space
temperat u re thermostat controls the operation of the
air handler to maintain the desired space
temperat
u re.
AUTO/WINTER Mode:
The air handler (blo w er and b u rner) cycle on and off
to maintain space temperat u re as selected on the
room thermostat. When the air handler is operating,
air is being discharged at the setpoint on the
discharge temperat
u re selection dial. The b u rner
flame mod u lates to maintain a constant discharge air
temperat u re as selected on the temperat u re
selection dial. The discharge air temperat u re setting
m u st be higher than the thermostat setting.
ON/WINTER Mode:
The air handler (blo w er and b u rner) operate
contin u o u sly to pro v ide heated air. When the air
handler is operating, air is being discharged at the
setpoint on the discharge temperat
u re selection dial.
The b u rner flame mod u lates to maintain a constant
discharge air temperat u re as selected on the
temperat u re selection dial. The u nit disregards the
thermostat setpoint w hile in this mode.
ON/SUMMER Mode:
Only the blo w er operates contin u o u sly to pro v ide
u nheated air. The b u rner remains off regardless of
temperat u res on the temperat u re selection dial and
thermostat.
FAN ON indicator:
Indicates that the air handler is s u pplying po w er to
the blo w er motor v ia the M1 motor starter.
BURNER ON indicator:
Indicates that the air handler has s u pplied po w er to
open the main gas safety sh u t off v al v e.
BURNER LOCKOUT indicator:
The b u rner control mod u le has experienced a fa u lt
and w ill need to be reset. The b u rner control mod u le
m u st be reset at the air handler. Refer to Page 69,
Section 21 and Page 79, Section 23 to determine the
ca u se of the fa u lt.
CHECK FILTER indicator:
The airflo w in the u nit is ins u fficient to acti v ate the lo w
press u re s w itch. This is most commonly ca u sed by
dirty filters, b u t co u ld also indicate other obstr u ctions
in the air stream.
17.2.2 Deluxe Temperature Control (DTC) Remote
This control is typically u sed for pro v iding a u tomatic
day/night space heating. The b u rner flame
mod u lates and v aries the discharge air temperat u re
to maintain the space temperat u re set on the
