Which charger is suitable for the battery?
For optimal charging of LiFePO4 batteries we recommend chargers with a
CCCV characteristic curve. The recommended charging voltage (compare data sheet) should be
strictly adhered to. A lower charging voltage can lead to the battery not being fully charged or
the charging time being significantly extended.
If the charging voltage is too high the internal protection of the battery is triggered and charging is
stopped. Repeated or very high overvoltage can lead to a defect.
Can I continue to use my charger for lead batteries?
Chargers for lead batteries may only be used if the correct charging voltage is set and no desulfation
program is used. For efficient charging we recommend chargers with a special LiFePO4 mode or
professional devices, where the values can be adjusted to LiFePO4 batteries.
Can I combine the battery with a starter battery?
In general, only batteries of the same type and model may be connected in parallel. You
can never connect a LiFePO4 battery directly with a lead-acid battery, as problems will inevitably
arise due to the very different charging and discharging characteristics. For the combined use with
lead starter battery we recommend a suitable B2B charger (also called charge booster).
This enables optimal charging of the LiFePO4 battery by the alternator without a direct connec-
tion of lead and lithium battery.
Why has the charging process stopped, but the app does not yet show 100%?
As soon as one of the cells has reached the maximum charge level, the charging process of the
battery is stopped.
What do I do if the connection via Bluetooth does not work?
To connect to the battery, you need the WATTSTUNDE app. A direct connection without an additional
app is not possible. Due to the large variety of Bluetooth chips and operating system versions,
compatibility can unfortunately not be guaranteed in individual cases. Please note that the
Basic „BS“ series does not have a Bluetooth interface.
