4.30 Starting Up: Filling and De-Aerating The Boiler
Carry out the following tasks in connection with maintenance, etc. to an already installed unit:
•
Shut down all programs
•
Close the gas shutoff valve upstream from the boiler
•
Shut off the power at the main power switch
•
Close the C/H service valves (supply and return)
4.30.1 Necessary Precautions for Safety
The following safety rules
MUST
be observed:
•
All work on the unit must take place in a dry environment.
•
AERCO units should never be in operation without their cover panels, except in connection
with maintenance or adjustments.
•
Never allow electrical or electronic components to come into contact with water.
4.30.2 Supply Voltage, Gas Pressure, and Water pressure
The unit must be able to function during maintenance procedures or when adjustments are
performed. For this reason, the unit’s supply voltage, gas pressure and water pressure must be
maintained and available during these activities.

Following maintenance or other activities, always check the integrity of all parts through which
gas flows with a bubble test using soap spray to ensure there are no gas leaks.
4.31 Filling The System
4.31.1 Necessary Precautions While Filling the System
C A U T I O N
Do not mix the C/H
system’s water with anti-freeze or anti-corrosion solutions using incorrect
concentrations! Doing so can damage the gaskets and cause noise during operation. AERCO
is not liable for injury to any persons, animals, or damage to property as a result of disregarding
the above warnings and recommendations
