Trouble-shooting

If there appears to be low or no Chlorine Residual:

1.  Check stabiliser level is 40ppm

– 60ppm. Add if necessary and wait for it to dissolve.

2.  Have you added any chemical additives recently?
3.  Check pool for phosphates and remove if necessary
4.  Is the unit turned on and operating the filter pump?
5.  If the unit is not running at all, check the fuse in the bottom of the unit.

If there is a high Chlorine Residual:

1.   Check stabiliser level is below 80ppm. You may need to dump some water to dilute.
2.   Check for phosphate

– even low levels of phosphate can lead to faster algae growth

with higher residuals needed to stop it (for the same ORP).
3.   if pH was high (eg acid drum empty)) more chlorine will be added to maintain ORP.

If there is an algal bloom:

Most algae is destroyed by normal chlorine levels. Some types need more
chlorine and/or an algicide. We recommend a metal-based algicide such as
copper. Always follow the manufacturer directions.
