PROBLEM
POSSIBLE CAUSE

RUNNING AT HIGH
PRESSURES
Multi-Media or Carbon Filter
coated with normal accumulation
of dirt, etc.
Backwash is needed.
Cartridge filter plugged
Cleaning is needed.
Obstruction in line to tank #1
Remove obstruction.
DROP OFF OF
DISCHARGE FLOW
Multi-Media or Carbasorb Filter
coated with normal accumulation
of dirt, etc.
Backwash is needed.
Valve #1 closed
Open valve.
Cartridge filter clogged
Clean.
Pump impeller vanes clogged
Cleaning with a stiff wire through the pump inlet
opening will usually work. Alternate would be to
disassemble and clean.
Air leak on suction side of pump
Check cover gasket, hand knobs, hose, clamps,
etc. Replace or tighten as necessary.
Electric motor running less than
rated RPM (underspeed)
Consult pump and motor troubleshooting guide.
NOTE: Most motor problems are due to:
1. Undersized or improper wiring.
2. Power cutbacks or a combination of both.
SHORT CYCLES
Multi-Media or Carbasorb Filter
loaded to capacity with dirt, etc.
Backwash.
