Use of the printer

 

 

8.11. Tuning the compression of the extruder

WARNING:

Adjusting the spring can significantly affect the print result.
It is therefore an advanced procedure and it is always important to make adjustments wisely.

The tuning of the compression of the extruder allows to adjust the pressure that the driver applies on the 
filament during the extrusion. 
This adjustment may be necessary when the filament tends to be damaged and bent during printing due to the 
compression of the extruder.

Compression is tuned by turning the dial on the left side of the extruder( fig 8.11 ): 

Screwing along the adjustment screw will cause the spring to exert less pressure on the filament.
Unscrewing along the adjustment screw the spring will exert more pressure on the filament.
