1. General
The removal of the piston rod gland (hereafter called gland) is carried out at the
same time as of the piston removal.
On every piston overhaul, the gland must also be dismantled and inspected. Ex-
cessively worn or damaged parts are to be replaced.
It is important that the gland be in perfect condition when assembled, as a possible
earlier than planned inspection of the gland can only be carried with the piston re-
moved.
