Tips for plunge cuts
Plunge cuts are only possible in soft materials such as softwood, gypsum boards
or hard foam. Harder materials have to be drilled as per the diameter of the saw
blade.
• The saw blade should be as short as possible.
• Carefully place the front edge of the stopper on the workpiece surface.
• Switch on the reciprocating saw and wait till it attains the maximum number of
strokes.
• Gently guide the saw blade to the workpiece.
• Slowly plunge the saw blade into the workpiece.
WARNING!
Never make plunge cuts in metal.
Be careful when plunge cutting into ceilings, walls and floors. Use
suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work
area or call the local utility company for assistance.
