6.3 Machine Break-In
Although there are no operational restrictions on the Wood
Processor when used for the first time, it is recommended that
the following mechanical items be checked:
After 1–5 hours of operation:
1.
Check all nuts, bolts and other fasteners. Tighten to their
specified torque.
2.
Check hydraulic system for leaks. Tighten all leaking fittings
and replace any leaking components.
3.
Check machine fluid levels: Fuel, engine oil, and hydraulic
oil reservoir. Top up as required.
4.
Check condition of winch.
5.
Check the condition of the rope. Replace if cut, knotted,
worn or if it has any broken strands.
6.
Check for entangled material. Remove all entangled material
before resuming work.
7.
Lubricate all grease fittings.
After 20 hours of operation:

Repeat steps 1 through 7 listed above.
9.
Change engine oil after 20 hours. See engine manual.
10.
Go to the normal servicing and maintenance schedule as
defined in the Maintenance Section. See page 45.
6.4 Pre-start Checks
Items to Check
Boom and Grapple
Machine is lubricated as indicated in the
Maintenance Schedule on page 50.
All boom pivot points, grapple and stabilizers move
freely.
Check for leaks in the hydraulic system. Tighten
leaking fittings. Repair or replace any damaged
components.
Make sure all guards and shields are in place.
Check all fasteners and hardware. Re-torque if
required.
Power Pack Option ( If equipped)
Follow the pre-operation check in your engine
owner's manual.
Check hydraulic reservoir. Top up as required.
Check for entangled material. Remove all entangled
material before resuming work.
Check for leaks in the hydraulic system. Tighten
leaking fittings. Repair or replace any damaged
components.
Log Trailer
Check tire pressure. Inflate as required.
Check wheel lug nut torque. See torque table on
page 60.
Check mounting legs are securely pinned (dumper or
flatbed only).
Check adjustable tandem is pinned (LX95 only).
Three-point Hitch Mount (option)
Check all fasteners and hardware on the 3-point
hitch and adaptor. Re-torque if required.
