5.7 Refueling
The fuel tank is in front of the engine. Volume is 12 gal US
(50 L).
Avoid running the tank dry. Use the appropriate grade of
fuel, and use caution to prevent spilling.
Do not smoke while
refueling.
5.7.1 Refueling Safety
• Engine fuel is highly flammable. Handle with care.
• Fill fuel tank outdoors.
• Stop the engine before refueling. Allow engine to cool
for five minutes. Clean up spilled fuel before restarting
engine.
• Do not overfill the fuel tank.
• If fuel is spilled, wipe it away carefully and wait until the
fuel has dried before starting the engine.
• Do not refuel the machine while smoking or when near
open flame or sparks.

Fuel vapors can explode causing
injury or death. Do not smoke while
refueling. Keep sparks, fl ames, and hot
components away.

• After refueling, make sure that the fuel cap is secured to
prevent spillage.
• Prevent fires by keeping machine clean of accumulated
trash, grease, and debris.

machine for fuel specification.

To add fuel:
1.
Allow the engine and muffler to cool.
2.
Clean area around fuel compartment lid. Open it and remove
cap.
3.
Using a clean funnel, fill fuel tank to 1/2" (13 mm) below
bottom of filler neck to provide space for any fuel expansion.
Do not overfill.
4.
Install fuel fill cap securely and wipe up any spilled fuel.
