 Dry Well Inserts

To achieve maximum accuracy of a dry well calibrator, use the appropriate insert for the probes
being calibrated.   Due to the specific features of the different calibration inserts, different
calibration results may be obtained.  If extreme accuracy is required, a compensation of the
calibration inserts should be performed.   Consult the manufacturer for more information.
Available calibration inserts are:

12457-21: Insert J:

2 each: 1/8 inch; 1/4 inch; 3/8 inch Diameter Holes (included as standard)

12457-22: Insert K:

6 each: 1/4 inch Diameter Holes

12457-23: Insert L:

 1 each: 1/16 inch; 1/8 inch; 3/16 inch; 1/4 inch; 3/8 inch Diameter Holes

12457-24: Insert M:

 1 each: 1/8 inch; 3/16 inch; 1/4 inch; 3/8 inch Diameter Holes

12457-25: Insert E:

 Blank, No Holes, (user drill)

Note: Metric and other fractional sizes may be available upon request.

Dry Well Insert Removal and Installation

WARNING!

Do Not remove inserts unless their temperature is at or near room ambient

temperature.  Hot inserts may seriously burn the operator or unprotected surfaces.

Remove the insert by inserting the tool ends into the internal holes in the side of two of the inserts
cavities and pulling straight up.
Insert the new insert making sure the end with holes is facing upward.  Gently press it into place
so that it is fully seated into the dry well cavity.

6.5.

 Starting the Dry Well Calibrator

Connect the provided power cord to the power input module located on the rear of the
instrument.  Connect the power cord to the AC Mains supply.

Set the Power On/Off switch to the ON position.  The Power On/Off switch is located on
the Power Input Module on the rear panel. The Controller will turn on and the top PV
display will show the word “TEST”. On the lower SV display the version number is
momentarily displayed, for example “Rl 2.7”.

After about 5 seconds, activation will be completed and the normal operating mode is
automatically displayed. The controller will then regulate the calibrator’s temperature to
match the selected Set Value displayed on the temperature controller.
