Functional failure if power supply interrupted
The components that can be used for supplying power are not designed to bridge power
outages. In case of power outage, the system switches off.
1. As a general rule, an external buffer of at least 200 µF per 1 A of load current should
be planned for short voltage dips.
2. To allow continued operation even during longer power outages, the external buffer
must be dimensioned according to the node’s specific current requirement and the
duration to be bridged (e.g., of 1 ms or 10 ms per IEC 61131-2).
