SERVICING OF A DOUBLE-INSULATED
PRODUCT
In a double-insulated product, two systems of insulation are
provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is provided
on a double-insulated product, nor should a means for grounding
be added to the product. Servicing of a double-insulated product
requires extreme care and knowledge of the system, and should
be done only by qualified service personnel. Replacement parts
for a double-insulated product must be identical to those parts
in the product.
IMPORTANT ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
Use only an extension cord that will accept the plug on the
product. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough
to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord
will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and
overheating. A 12 or 14 AWG minimum cord is recommended.
Outdoor extension cords should be used with outdoor use
products and are surface marked with suffix letter “W” and with
a tag stating “Suitable for Use Outdoors”. The connection of the
cord should be kept dry and off the ground.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended
to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way. This
unit contains no serviceable electrical parts. Do not attempt to
service yourself.
