Media Pump
Repair and maintenance of Media Pump
General maintenance
Media Pump requires little maintenance.
Daily:
Autoclave (121°C for 15 min minimum) the tubing set (when the Media Pump is used in a sterile environment).
The tubing supports are fully autoclavable.
Change the silicone tubing:
In the event of leakage, hardening or sticking of the tubing.
Every 20 autoclaving:
Replace the air filter (ref. 710-2099).
Note: To clean the top shell, do not use bleach because it damages the stainless steel. We recommend to
disinfect with ethanol 70°.
Pump heads maintenance
The pump head is not autoclavable. To clean it, once the unit is unplugged, wipe
out the dust and dirt with a soft cloth.
Once a week, grease the pump head with a universal multi-purpose grease to the
friction areas (see diagram below) to prevent premature wearing.
Signs of wearing of pump head are:
• Difficulties to prime
• Over-time to distribute
• Unsuccessful trial with a new tubing
• Gap between the cover and the body of the pump
If you notice these symptoms, please replace the pump head. The frequency of replacement depends on use and
handling conditions. For information, peristaltic heads have been tested to undergo approximately 10,000
openings.
To assemble and disassemble pump heads
The double pump is composed of a pump and a pump extension.
To remove the pump(s): press the tab and turn it at the same time in
the direction of the arrow. Release the pump.
To assemble the double pump, clip the pump extension on the pump and then open the 2 covers:
