6 INSTALLATION
NOTICE
Make sure that the energiser is placed securely. The device may only be operated upright with the
cover closed.
The ground connection cable is used to connect the grounding rod to the energiser. The grounding rod
should be pushed into the ground as far as possible. To improve the grounding (e.g. for long fences & dry
soil) we recommend to place further earth rods at a distance of approx. 3m from one another. The fence
connection is made with the red fence connection cable, the heart clamp is attached to the conductor
material.
WARNING AGAINST ELECTRICAL VOLTAGES
Do not lay PVC cables at a temperature below +5°C.
WARNING
There is a risk of fire in the event of a heat build-up. During operation, the energiser must not be
covered, as this can lead to heat accumulation and possibly fire. Therefore, do not install the unit in
areas where there is a risk of fire (e.g. hay and straw storage).
WARNING
Mount the energiser on a fireproof base.
NOTICE
Damage to the energiser when covering it.
6.1 GROUNDING
The proper grounding of your fence is extremely important! Only then will your energiser achieve its full
performance capacity. You should choose a damp and overgrown area for earthing. Galvanised metal rods
with a minimum length of 75 cm are used as ground rods. For dry soils and long fences, place additional
ground rods at intervals of about 2 - 3 m to improve the grounding. We recommend Art: 33615 as the
connection cable between the rods. If you ensure optimum grounding, the VOSS Power XXL will reach its
full performance level and you will achieve the best possible security on the fence.
Info
If the soil has poor conductivity, we recommend using 2 to 3 additional ground rods at a distance of
2 - 3 m. Very dry or stony soils will reduce the conductivity.
