Maintenance. Lubrication system
Changing oil filter and bypass filter.
Change the oil filter and bypass filter during each oil
change.
Remember to hand the old filters in to a re-cycling station.
WARNING!
Hot oil and hot surfaces can cause
burns.
1. Put a suitable vessel underneath the filters to
avoid oil spillage.
2. Clean the filter bracket.
3. Unscrew the bypass filter (1) and the oil filters (2)
with a suitable extractor.
4. Check that the mating surfaces on the filter brack-
ets are clean, and that no residue from the old
seals remains.
5. Moisten the seals on the new filters with engine oil.
6. Screw the filters on by hand until the rubber seals
just touch the mating surface on the filter brackets.
Then tighten a further 1/2 to 3/4 turn.
7. Start the engine (low idle) and check that no leak-
age occurs. Check the oil level once the engine
has stopped.
