Do not short-circuit batteries. Do not throw batter-
ies into fire or try to recharge standard batteries
because they might explode!
Environmental Note
In Germany the consumer is legally bound (by the used battery
decree "Batterieverordnung”) to return any used battery or
rechargeable battery; it is forbidden to dispose of batteries with the
household garbage.
You can return your used batteries in all our subsidiaries or in the
headquarters in Hirschau, or bring them to the local disposal institu-
tions that are obligated to take them back. Participate in environ-
mental protection!

Operation
Please remove the transport safety strips. Lift the steel cover from
the weighing plate, and then the weighing plate itself from the hous-
ing. Afterwards, carefully replace the steel cover and the weighing
plate into the fastenings.
1. Now place the scales on a solid, flat surface.
2. Adjust the stands at the bottom of the housing until the level bub-
ble (6) is exactly in the middle position, in the circle.
Note
The scales are ready for use immediately after they have been
switched on. However, it is useful to let them warm up for about 1
minute to let the measured value stabilize. No loads must remain
on the weighing plate (1) permanently.
3. Switch on the scales by pressing the on/off button (4). The scales
now perform a "power up” test. All segments of the display are
shown for about 3 seconds . Then the display changes to "0:00"
and the zero display (10) appears. Should the display not change
to "0:00”, press the tare button (7).
4. Set the weighing unit to "g" (grams), "lb" (pounds), "oz” (ounces)
as required, by pressing the mode button (8). Now place the
goods to be weighed on the weighing plate (1). Make sure that the
goods to be weighed do not touch the housing or the underlay.
When the measured value has stabilized, you can read the weight
of the goods.
5. Should the weighing goods be heavier than the weighing range of
the scales, the display shows "EEEEE” (error). In case of an over-
load, remove the weighing goods immediately. Please note that
