This product fulfils the requirements of the valid European and national
guidelines. It is designed in compliance with EN 60950. In addition, it has
been tested for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and the corresponding
declarations are available from the manufacturer.
In order to maintain this condition and ensure safe operation, you as the user
must observe these operating instructions.
10
Proper use
The power adapter is intended for operation with information technology devices
such as digital cameras. The wide-range input enables operation on a power
supply from 100 to 240 V~ 50/60 Hz. A stabilized direct output voltage can be
selected in 6 steps from 6V to 24VDC (6 or 9 or 12 or 15 or 18 or 24VDC) for the
models SNG24-24W & SNG24-48W and 3V to 12VDC (3 or 4.5 or 6 or 7.5 or 9
or 12VDC) for the models SNG12-12W & SNG12-24W. The maximum current
consumption of models SNG12-12W & SNG24-24W are 1000mA and models
SNG12-24W & SNG24-48W are 2000mA. Eight different adapters are included
with the power adapter suitable for the most common low voltage power loads
used in information technology such as digital cameras. A polarity selection is
possible by reversing the polarity of the low voltage plug. The power consumption
of the load should not exceed the power rating of the adapter (according to
voltage setting).
Overloading of power adapter will occur if exceeded the power rating and the
power adapter may be destroyed in the event of this (short-circuiting or excessive
current consumption). The power adapter technology allows a high output with
small size and low weight.
Operations under adverse conditions are not permitted. Adverse conditions are
as follows:
• Moisture or excessive humidity
• Dust or flammable gases, vapors or solvents
Use other than the one described above leads to damages of the product and
also is associated with dangers like short circuit, fire, electric shock, etc.
The safety instructions must be strictly observed!
11
• This device left the factory in perfect condition in terms of safety engineering.
• To maintain this status and to ensure safe operation, the user must comply
with the safety instructions and warnings (“Caution!” and “Note!”) lay down
in the present operating instructions. The following symbols and marks
must be observed:
12
Following procedure can be followed for adjusting the voltage:
- Pull out the power plug and make sure that the power adapter is
not under load.
- Select a voltage selection plug from enclosed 6 voltage selection
plugs that corresponds with the input voltage of your power load.
- Connect this to the voltage selection socket on the side (the edge of the
voltage selection plug and adapter housing must correspond) and slide it
straight into the housing until it clearly snaps into place.
- To change the voltage, slide the voltage selection plug out of the voltage
selection socket and insert the desired voltage selection plug into voltage
selection socket (adequately deep pressed into the socket). A flat screwdriver
or fingernail can be used to slide it out.
- Make sure to push the plug horizontally into the socket
- Do not insert or remove the voltage selection plug when the
power adapter is connected to voltage source (230 V AC)

• The power adapter generates heat during operation. Make sure it is adequately
ventilated.
• Do not leave power adapters and the connected consumers in operation
unattended.
• Power adapter units are not designed for application to human beings or
animals.
• Operations under adverse conditions are not permitted. Adverse conditions
are as follows:
- Moisture or excessive humidity
- Dust or flammable gasses, vapors or solvents
• If you have reasons to assume that safe operation is no longer possible,
immediately take the device out of operation and secure it against inadvertent
operation. Reasons to assume that safe operation is no longer possible
include:
• there is visible evidence that the device has been damaged
• the device does not work any longer
• the device has been stored for long periods of time under unfavorable
conditions or
• it was subject to considerable stress during transport
• You should also heed the additional safety instructions in each chapter of
these operating instructions as well as in the operating instructions of the
connected devices.

Now insert the low voltage plug (4) with the desired side into the low voltage
socket (3). The plug now has the desired polarity.
Connect the low voltage plug with the voltage supply socket to your power load
(for e.g.: camera). Make sure the power load to be connected to the adapter is
switched off.
Connect the Euro power plug (6) with a household power outlet.
The power adapter now functions and the red status indicator (2) on the top of
the power supply will be glowing.
16
• For reasons of safety and licensing (CE), it is not permitted to convert or
modify the product.
• Please contact an expert if you have any doubts about the mode of operation,
the safety or connecting the device.
• Electric appliances and accessories should be kept out of the reach of
children!
• Keep the enclosed small parts away from children and pets as they can
accidentally swallow those.
• On commercial premises, the accident prevention regulations for electrical
facilities and equipment of the relevant professional association must be
complied with.
• Please make sure by all means that your hands, your shoes, your clothing,
the floor and the power pack are dry.
• Do not connect the power adapter to any high voltage source right after it
has been taken out from a cold to a warm environment. Under adverse
conditions, the resulting condensation could destroy the device. Allow the
device to reach room temperature before switching it on.

of the connected power load!
The output voltage on the power adapter is
selected by inserting the enclosed voltage
selection plug (5) into the voltage selection socket
(1)
The respective voltage values of the voltage
selection plug are indicated on it (for e.g.: 12V =
12 Volt etc.). These can be used to select any of
the 6 desired output voltages.
Important!
Never operate the power adapter device when open or via
faulty mains connection, with damaged (split/cracked) housing.
Potentially lethal hazard!
Regularly inspect the mechanical safety of the device such as
damage of the housing. Repair may only be performed by a
technician. With arbitrary changes or repairs on the device,
the warranty becomes void.
Before using, check that the AC line voltage is within
the specified line voltage range.
Disposing of the device
If the power adapter is no longer functional or repairable despite having an intact
power supply (from power grid), it must be disposed according to legal guidelines.
Troubleshooting
With this power adapter, you have acquired an item which is constructed with
latest technology. However, faults may occur. This is how you can deal relatively
easily with some of these faults:
Problem
The status indicator does
not shine.
Connected load is not
functioning any longer.
The red LED indicator is dim
and connected load is not
functioning even though the
correct voltage selection
plug has been selected
Possible solution
Supply voltage does not exist?
• Check the circuit-breaker for the outlet.
• Make sure the power plug is positioned
correctly.
Is the power adapter overloaded?
• Remove all low voltage loads and check
the technical data.
Is the correct voltage set?
Is the correct polarity selected?
Does the status indicator shine?
Is the power adapter overloaded?
• Check the technical data for
the power load.
Check for correct positioning of the voltage
selection plug. Is the voltage selection plug
inserted correctly? If not, insert it correctly.
Otherwise, only the lowest voltage will be
available at the output socket.
Lowest voltage also available if none of the
voltage selection plug is inserted.
Important!
Please read and observe the Notes on Safety!
Repair other than described above may only be performed
exclusively by an authorized specialist.
