Selecting a cable dataset
• Select the database (‘Library’) according to the type
of cable to be tested. Do this with the (1) or (8)
button. You can select between the ‘Coaxial Library’
and the ‘Data Library’.
• Press the (1) or (8) button to select one of the
continuously numbered datasets for a cable and
confirm with the
TEST OK
button (3).
• You can now perform the test immediately, as outlined in ‘Testing a coax cable’ and ‘Testing
a data cable’.
Displaying and deleting a dataset
You can view datasets in the database, modify and delete them.
• Press the
SET
button (7) to display the entire dataset.
• Press the
EXIT
button (9) to activate the delete option. A
confirmation prompt for deletion is shown on the LC display (4). You
can delete the saved data or return to the database.
• Press the
TEST OK
button (3) to confirm the deletion.
• To cancel and retain the dataset, press the
EXIT
button (9). The
display returns to the database.
12. Measuring and saving the speed factor
You require a cable with a known length of more than 10 metres, e.g. 20 m. You must know the
exact length. Measure it again, if necessary, to double check.

Connect the test cable to the BNC coaxial cable connection (5) or plug the RJ45 connector
plug of a data cable into the network cable connection (6), depending on the cable type.
